Rugby tops seem to be really coming into fashion this year, and it’s no wonder really, because some of them look great.
The one we’re featuring here is at the upper end of what you can expect to pay, coming in at £75, and I’m sure some people will have just taken a sharp intake of breath! However, don’t be so quick to click away somewhere else, it’s a truly great top from a well respected brand; Scotch and Soda. The labelling, and design on the back, make this stand out from the crowd, and it’s simple casual look with the shirt underneath look brilliant.
However, the majority of people don’t have that kind of money to spend on a top, so why not do it yourself? The phrase sounds a bit cheap, and brings up images of your grandmother knitting you a top, but you can pop out to any menswear shop and pick up a nice looking rugby top for around £20, and then stick a £10 top underneath it, achieving the same look for less than half the price. You’ll also have gained three outfits instead of one, wearing them together, or each item individually.
So if you can afford the cost of the Scotch and Soda Rugby Twofer, and you think it’s your style then go ahead, but the SuaveMan advice is to stay suave while looking after your cash, and make up the look yourself.
